Rafi sets personal record at Commonwealth Games

Bangladeshi swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi made an impressive start at the Commonwealth Games by setting a new personal best.
On Monday, July 28, Rafi competed in the men’s 50 meter butterfly event at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Scotland. He clocked 25.23 seconds, breaking his previous personal best of 26.01 seconds to set a new personal record.
Competing in Heat 4, the Bangladeshi swimmer finished second. Overall, he placed 36th among 70 competitors.
Although he did not qualify for the final, Samiul Islam Rafi maintained his steady progress on the international stage by recording his personal best time.
