An accusation has been raised against Mehezabin Jannat Ananya, daughter of Professor Golam Rasul, MP for the Jashore-4 constituency and district Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, for beating a child. Protesting the incident, angry locals besieged the MP's residence in Jashore city, blocking the Jashore-Narail highway.

Several hundred people gathered to besiege MP Rasul's house in the Nilganj area of Jashore city around 10:00 AM today (Tuesday). According to the MP, his daughter has "mental health issues," and the incident occurred after she protested against children making noise in front of the house.

Local residents alleged that the "Al Madrasatush Shariyah" madrasa, located next to the MP's house in the Nilganj area, had one of its young students beaten by Ananya this morning. When a female guardian protested, she was also attacked. As tensions rose, MP Rasul instructed the madrasa to remain closed temporarily.

Angered by this, locals staged a protest by taking position in front of the MP's house. Their demonstration spread to the main highway in front of the residence, disrupting traffic. Bricks and stones were also thrown toward the house.

Protesters demanded a fair investigation into the incident and necessary legal action against the accused Ananya.

Inspector (Investigation) Masud Alam of Kotwali Police Station arrived at the scene and attempted to bring the situation under control. He stated that discussions were held with both parties. Police personnel remain at the scene.

When asked how the incident started, Masud said: "Yesterday, the MP's daughter pushed a bicycle belonging to a madrasa teacher and knocked it down. She has some mental health issues, which is why she did this. The madrasa people were upset about it. I went there last night upon receiving news and resolved the matter. This morning, the girl again beat a child from the madrasa and also struck a guardian on the head. After that, local people began protesting."

Regarding the matter, MP and Jamayat leader Golam Rasul commented: "My daughter studies in medical college. She has a slight mental health problem. She has been treated in various places across the country and even in India. Her treatment is still ongoing. Because of the madrasa in front of the house, children often come there and make noise at various times. Ananya only protested against this. But this incident has been used to create tension. Now they are attacking the house and leveling false allegations."

The protesters were dispersed by afternoon. Inspector Masud Alam said that if a formal complaint is received, necessary action will be taken.
