Social Media Erupts Over Yash-Kiara’s Intimate Scenes

The release of the first glimpse of Yash’s film Toxic sparked several controversies. From the outset, the film was labeled as ‘misogynistic.’ Now, the first song from the film featuring Yash and Kiara Advani has been released, triggering a fresh debate on social media.
While the song’s video has impressed a section of viewers, it has also faced sharp criticism for its bold and intimate scenes.
At the beginning of the song, sung and composed by Vishal Mishra, Yash sees Kiara outside a church and lifts her in his arms. Later, before going on stage at a circus, he takes her backstage and kisses her. The video then showcases their intimate moments in various locations, including inside a car and on a beach. In the song’s final scene, the two are seen on a carnival Ferris wheel that has been burned by fire.
The chemistry between Yash and Kiara, their emotional performances and the mood of the song have given the entire sequence a different dimension. Here, love is portrayed as an emotion that is at once deep, passionate and all-consuming.
Since the song’s release, social media has seen mixed reactions. Many viewers have praised Yash and Kiara’s on-screen chemistry. According to them, the pairing is the film’s biggest attraction.
However, the criticism has been equally strong. Some have alleged that the abundance of intimate scenes in the first song of an action film is unnecessary. Others believe it has created the atmosphere of an ‘erotica’ rather than promoting an action film. Some have also written that because the film is titled Toxic, the filmmakers are taking the opportunity to present controversial or objectionable subjects as something normal.
Another fan commented that the video felt very much like a contraceptive advertisement. Despite the criticism, many have praised Kiara’s look and screen presence.
