Popular South Indian actress Anupama Parameshwaran has recently opened up about a difficult and dark chapter of her personal life. In an interview, she revealed that she had been subjected to mental harassment for two long years.

A few weeks ago, the actress had left her fans worried with a cryptic post on social media, where she wrote: "To find peace, you have to remove the deadlock from life." Now, she has finally shared the harsh truth behind that post with her fans.

Appearing recently on the "I Am With Dhanya Varma" podcast, Anupama spoke about her painful experiences. She said, "I didn't post that suddenly. Behind that writing lay two long years of intense physical and mental anguish. People speculated many things, but I wanted to talk about it only after I had completely healed myself. This was a journey of a girl rediscovering herself and rising from the ruins."

Anupama revealed that she had been through a toxic relationship for two years and was a victim of mental harassment. However, she did not disclose the name of the perpetrator.

Speaking about the brutal experiences of that relationship, she added that it caused her tremendous physical and mental harm. Her weight dropped significantly over time, and instead of evolving, she found herself shrinking and breaking down mentally day by day.

Anupama is speaking out primarily to raise awareness among those who are trapped in toxic relationships but fail to realize that they are being abused. According to her, such people are the most at risk in such situations.

She shared that when actress Madonna Sebastian spoke on Instagram about toxic relationships, Anupama trembled with fear upon finding similarities with her own situation. It was that very feeling that compelled her to raise awareness among others.

There has been considerable buzz in the entertainment industry for some time about Anupama's alleged romance with South Indian star Dhruv Vikram. Rumors of their relationship spread when they worked together on the film Bison Kaalamaadan in early 2025. However, neither of them has officially spoken about the breakup or the relationship yet.
