A high-level US business delegation, led by Atul Keshap, President of the US-Bangladesh Business Council, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir. The meeting was held on Wednesday at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and the United States, expanding economic cooperation, and exploring investment potential in Bangladesh. Representatives from both countries also exchanged views on opportunities for US investment in various promising sectors, including industry and infrastructure, energy, technology, the digital economy, and healthcare.

Welcoming the delegation, Humayun Kabir said that Bangladesh-US relations are long-standing and multidimensional. Economic cooperation, including trade and investment, can play a significant role in further strengthening this relationship.

Highlighting the existing opportunities and potential sectors for US investors in Bangladesh, he said that the government is committed to ensuring a business- and investment-friendly environment.

"Bangladesh is currently passing through a crucial phase of economic transformation and new opportunities. At this time, close partnership with US businesses and investors can make significant contributions to Bangladesh's economic growth, employment generation, and technology and knowledge transfer," the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Advisor added.

Atul Keshap expressed interest in Bangladesh's economic potential and investment opportunities. Emphasizing further expansion of collaboration between the private sectors of Bangladesh and the United States, he conveyed the Council's interest in taking the business relations between the two countries to new heights.
