Qawmi Chhatra Oikya Parishad staged a protest march and rally on Friday in Brahmanbaria demanding that Hasnat Abdullah to apologize for his speech on Parliament session.
They warned that if Hasnat does not apologize, they will not allow the NCP program to take place in Brahmanbaria Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
The protest started at the town’s main road and concluded in front of the Brahmanbaria Press Club, where activists held a rally.
Earlier, while speaking during the Parliament session on Thursday, NCP Member of Parliament Hasnat criticized the cancellation of a cultural program at the Brahmanbaria Police Lines. He said, “Concerts have been stopped in Brahmanbaria. Boat races have been stopped. Where the home minister had said Brahmanbaria is a cultural district, there it is just like stopping music and cinema.”
