Train services on Mymensingh-Jamalpur route get normal after three hours

Train services resumed on the Mymensingh-Jamalpur railway line after being suspended for approximately three hours. A coach of the Brahmaputra Express Train was derailed at a railway crossing in the College Road area of Mymensingh city around 9:00 AM today (Wednesday). Train movement on this route returned to normal after getting the coach back on track around 12:15 PM.
Meanwhile, while attempting to righting the derailed train, the relief train also derailed in the Baghmara area of the city. That train was also had to be righted. Passengers of the Brahmaputra Intercity train suffered immensely while waiting for three hours. Additionally, passengers traveling to Dhaka on this train also faced severe inconvenience at Mymensingh railway station.
Regarding the incident, Mymensingh Railway Station Superintendent Abdullah Al Harun said that train services had returned to normal by the afternoon.
He further stated that a five-member investigation team has been formed from Dhaka regarding this incident. The committee has been asked to submit a report within three working days.
It is noteworthy that the Intercity Brahmaputra Express train was heading towards Dhaka via Mymensingh. Around 9:00 AM, as it reached the railway crossing in the College Road area, a bogie of the train derailed. Subsequently, train services on the Jamalpur-Dhaka route were suspended.
