Dr. Mahbub Ullah appointed National Professor
The government has appointed Professor Dr. Mahbub Ullah to the position of National Professor.
The government has appointed Professor Dr. Mahbub Ullah to the position of National Professor. He has been appointed to this post for the next five years in accordance with the Bangladesh National Professor Policy 2023.
A notification to this effect was issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday afternoon.
The notification states that Dr. Mahbub Ullah will not be considered a government officer. He will remain associated with a research organization or educational institution and conduct research work in his chosen field, keeping the Ministry of Education and the Bangladesh University Grants Commission informed about his research activities. Additionally, he will submit progress reports on his work.
Furthermore, the notification cites that the authorities of the concerned organization or educational institution will keep the Chairman of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission informed about his work progress and will send research data and information to the Secondary and Higher Education Division, the Ministry of Education, and the Bangladesh University Grants Commission.
It further states that this order will take immediate effect, and during his tenure as National Professor, he will receive salary, allowances, and other benefits as per Grade-1 of the National Pay Scale 2015. Moreover, he will not be able to hold any other job during his term in this position.
