DMP Assures Full Security as Army, BGB Deployed

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that law enforcement agencies remain fully prepared to prevent any chaos or unpleasant situations in the capital.
Additional Commissioner of Police S N Nazrul Islam made these remarks on Tuesday morning after inspecting the security situation in Dhanmondi 32, Dhaka.
He added, “Today marks the anniversary of a political party. At the same time, the holy month of Muharram is underway. Police remain on maximum alert to ensure no chaos or sabotage occurs surrounding these events.”
He mentioned that no reports of unpleasant incidents have emerged from any part of the capital thus far, and the overall law enforcement situation remains normal.
Expressing his commitment to the safety, Nazrul said, “I hope that no unwanted situation will arise in the remaining time. Residents of Dhaka will remain safe. We are putting in our maximum effort.”
To manage the situation, authorities have deployed the Army in six districts and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in five districts. Army will remain stationed in Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur Metropolitan, Narayanganj, Gopalganj, and Faridpur for nine days.
Moreover, BGB members began patrolling five districts on Monday, while 18,000 police officers are deployed across the capital.
