Dhaka Drowns Under Record Rain, More Showers Expected

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said the 97 millimeters of rain in Dhaka on Sunday was a record-breaking downpour that left vast areas of both city corporations still submerged as Monday dawned.
According to the BMD weather forecast for the 6-hour period starting at 7 am, the sky may remain cloudy to persistently overcast. Rain or thunder-showers may occur. During the time, winds may blow from the south or southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.
The daytime temperature in Dhaka is likely to remain largely unchanged.
At 6 am, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius. The air humidity was 97 percent. On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 28.4 degrees Celsius.
