Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said that the Awami League, a party whose activities are banned, will soon be brought to trial as a political party for its involvement in criminal activities.
He made these remarks on Saturday at the July National Conference held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka.
Salahuddin added that AL is orchestrating various conspiracies from abroad against the democratic government and they are desperate to undermine the country’s stability.
He said, “AL will soon be brought to trial as a political party. Justice will be ensured according to the law. We must move forward by embracing the dreams and spirit of July uprising. Through the implementation of this spirit, the country will reach its desired goal.”
Salahuddin warned against exploiting the movement, asserting that profiting from the July uprising is unacceptable. He emphasized that commercializing any revolutionary spirit yields no good results and urged that this spirit remain above politics for the nation's welfare.
Salahuddin Ahmed called on all citizens to avoid seeking business or political gain from the July uprising.
