PM targets semiconductor export earnings by 2030

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said the government wants to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh.
He made these remarks on Saturday at the two-day “National Semiconductor Symposium” and “Robotics Summit” in Tejgaon, Dhaka.
Tarique added, “We want to build a self-reliant, prosperous, and technology-driven Bangladesh. The target for export earnings in the semiconductor sector will be met by 2030. Integrated initiatives are necessary for the development of this sector.”
Regarding the government’s initiatives for the development of this sector, he said the government has already started working on implementing plans to create a business-friendly environment for the semiconductor industry.
At the same time, Tarique also mentioned the withdrawal of all types of duties on all raw materials for establishing the semiconductor industry in this year’s budget.
