The surgery on the left hip of Religious Affairs Minister and BNP Vice-Chairman Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has been successfully completed at Singapore General Hospital.
The surgery was performed around 5:00 PM Bangladesh time on Friday.
Kaikobad, a six-time elected Member of Parliament from Cumilla's Muradnagar, had been suffering from various physical complications for a long time. Prior to the surgery, the minister himself had sought prayers for his speedy recovery from party leaders, activists, and the people of the country.
His family has confirmed that although the surgery was successful, the minister remains under the close observation of doctors. They have appealed to the people of the country to pray for his swift recovery and complete healing.
Meanwhile, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) has also called for special prayers for the Religious Affairs Minister's well-being.
In a notice, the HAAB executive council urged all members and stakeholders of the organization to offer special prayers. The appeal was made in a notice signed by the association's president and general secretary.
