BMD forecasts storms in 7 regions, rain in Dhaka

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said rain or thundershowers may occur in Dhaka and storms may hit seven regions of the country.
BMD’s forecast for internal river ports from 5 am to 1 pm on Saturday added that rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty or squally winds, blowing from the south or south-east at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, may occur over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar.
River ports in these areas are advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
The weather forecast for the six hours following 7 am said the sky over Dhaka may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy. Rain or thundershowers may occur.
It mentioned that winds may blow from the south or south-east at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour and daytime temperature might increase slightly.
At 6 am, the temperature in Dhaka was 27.6 degrees Celsius, with air humidity at 92 percent. In the last 24 hours, 10 millimeters of rain was recorded.
