Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations commenced on Thursday under the Chittagong Education Board.
The first day’s Bangla First Paper exam began at 10 am and will be concluded at 1 pm.
Examinees started entering their respective centers 30 minutes before the test began. Authorities conducted thorough searches at every entrance, allowing students to pass only after verifying their admit cards.
While parents waited outside the gates, centers operated under significant police security.
The examination format consists of a 30-mark Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) section lasting 30 minutes, followed by a 70-mark Creative Question (CQ) section lasting two hours and 30 minutes. No break is permitted between the MCQ and CQ segments.
A total of 99,688 candidates are appearing for the exams across 114 centers. Of the 68 centers in the Chattogram district, 26 are located within Chattogram city.
Outside the district, there are 18 centers in Cox’s Bazar, eight in Bandarban, and 10 each in the Rangamati and Khagrachari districts.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations, the board has deployed 23 vigilance teams, including 15 general and eight special teams.
