Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumes duties at president’s office

Acting President and Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has conducted his first duties at the president’s office since assuming the role.
He traveled from the residence of the National Parliament to the office on Tuesday. A well-decorated contingent greeted him upon his arrival at the presidential palace.
Following the welcome, Hafiz participated in the regular administrative and functions of the office.
Hafiz will carry out his official duties at president’s office while continuing to reside at the speaker’s official residence within the Parliament building. He assumed the role of acting president in accordance with the constitution after former president Mohammed Shahabuddin resigned on 24 July.
