Ashura’s Message Inspires Resistance to Injustice

President Mohammed Shahabuddin
President Mohammed Shahabuddin has said that the eternal message of Holy Ashura teaches people to stand against injustice, oppression, and the abuse of power, while guiding them toward truth, virtue, and enlightenment.
He made the remarks in a message issued today on the occasion of Holy Ashura (10 Muharram), which will be observed tomorrow.
On the occasion of Holy Ashura, the head of state expressed profound respect and sorrow for Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), members of his family, and all the martyrs who embraced martyrdom on the plains of Karbala.
He said that Holy Ashura is a significant and mournful day for the entire Muslim Ummah. Although Ashura commemorates many important events in Islamic history, the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions on the plains of Karbala has given the day a unique distinction and deep humanitarian significance.
The president noted that their sacrifice to uphold truth and justice and preserve the noble ideals of Islam will remain eternally alive in human history.
In his message, the president further said that Islam, the religion of peace and welfare, calls on people to follow the path of truth, sacrifice, self-purification, and justice. It eliminates all forms of conflict, violence, hatred, and division and binds people together in a spirit of harmony and goodwill.
On the occasion of Holy Ashura, he also wished for the establishment of an egalitarian, justice-based, and humane society, as well as unity, solidarity, and continued progress for the Muslim Ummah.
