Iran has claimed it launched missiles and drones at US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for recent American strikes on Iranian territory.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Sunday that the attacks targeted US military installations in the two neighboring Gulf countries.
In a statement, the IRGC said the strikes were carried out in response to the US attacks on Iran and served as a warning that any future aggression would receive a ‘strong response.’
According to the statement, the attacks destroyed eight key military installations, including facilities at the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the US Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters at Salman Port in Bahrain.
The IRGC also warned that any hostile action by its enemies, regardless of the pretext or the size of the target—would be met with a forceful response.
Earlier, the US military said it had carried out another round of strikes on Iran.
In a statement, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Iranian forces used one-way attack drones to target the Panama-flagged tanker MT Kiku. In response, US forces struck Iranian military equipment, communications systems, air defense assets, and drone storage facilities.
CENTCOM said US warplanes hit 10 targets at multiple locations near the Strait of Hormuz.
