US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran will ‘cease to exist’ if the United States is forced to resume military action against the country.
In a post on Truth Social, on Saturday, Trump accused Tehran of violating the ceasefire and issued a fresh warning.
‘Because Iran has once again violated the ceasefire agreement, US aircraft have just struck Iranian missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radar installations,’ Trump wrote.
‘There may come a time when we can no longer exercise restraint and will be forced to complete, militarily, the highly successful operation we began. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist,’ he added.
Earlier, the US military said it had launched a second round of strikes on several targets inside Iran on Saturday.
Washington said the attacks were carried out in response to an assault on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
