Teacher Beauty Pal demands for 'Teacher Protection Law'

Beauty Pal, a school teacher from Fenchuganj in Sylhet, has demanded for formulation of the 'Teacher Protection Act 2026' to ensure the safety of teachers from cyberbullying and online harassment. At the same time, she expressed gratitude to the teachers, journalists, civil society members, and people from various professions who have recently stood by her.
In a status update on her Facebook account, Beauty Pal wrote, "I am expressing my heartfelt gratitude to all the government primary school teachers, secondary and higher secondary school teachers, journalists, civil society members, esteemed professors of colleges and universities, and distinguished intellectuals of Bangladesh who have stood by me."
She said, "The protest, solidarity, and moral support you have shown through songs, poems, writings, and various creative mediums have given me courage and inspiration. I will remember this love and cooperation with respect for the rest of my life."
Calling for the enactment of a law to ensure the safety of the teaching community, Beauty Pal said, "I humbly appeal to the honorable Members of Parliament to swiftly enact the Teacher Protection Act 2026, so that no teacher becomes a victim of cyberbullying, defamation, or online harassment in the future, and the teaching community can perform their duties with dignity and security."
Expressing gratitude to everyone, Beauty Pal said, "Thank you and gratitude to everyone once again."
Beauty Pal, wearing a blue Saree and black blouse, made a simple video on a song 'Shraboner meghgulo joro holo akashe...' ('The clouds of Shraban have gathered in the sky, perhaps the downpour of Shraban will fall relentlessly...)' — this song has suddenly become a topic of intense discussion as she put it on a social media. And, it had gone viral within days.
Soon after, she faced backlash from a section of netizens. Some local news portals in Sylhet also tried to corner her on social media. However, her colleagues do not consider this any wrongdoing or immoral act. They are also standing by her, making reel videos of the same song in protest.
