After nearly a decade of romance, Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have finally formalised their relationship. On Tuesday, they exchanged vows in a private, intimate ceremony in the coastal town of Cascais, near Lisbon, Portugal.
The couple shared the happy news with fans by posting a photo on their official Instagram accounts. In the picture, they are seen holding hands, with wedding rings clearly visible on both their fingers. The caption simply read—'C❤️G'. Within moments of being posted, the image went viral on social media, racking up millions of likes and congratulatory messages.
BBC Sports reported that the wedding was held with utmost secrecy. Rather than a grand affair, the couple chose to spend the special day in a purely family atmosphere. Their five children—Cristiano Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, Alana Martina, and Bella Esmeralda—were present at the ceremony. Exactly one year ago, on August 11, 2025, Georgina had announced their engagement. And on the very anniversary of that announcement, news of their marriage came to light.
Earlier last week, rumours had swirled that the wedding might take place at the historic cathedral in Funchal (Madeira Island), Ronaldo's birthplace. The speculation even drew hundreds of curious onlookers to the cathedral in Madeira. However, the couple later avoided all the gossip and media frenzy, opting instead to have their wedding in the quiet surroundings of Cascais, where they own a luxurious villa.
Notably, Ronaldo—then a Real Madrid star—first met Georgina in 2016 at a Gucci showroom in Madrid, where she was working as a sales assistant. That initial meeting eventually blossomed into a deep love. Over the course of their 10‑year journey together, Georgina stood by Ronaldo through every rise and fall of his glittering football career—from Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, to his current club, Saudi side Al‑Nassr.
