As the frenzy for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 reaches its peak around the globe, a historic and proud moment has arrived for Bangladesh's red and green flag! For the first time in the history of the Football World Cup, a young music producer and DJ of Bangladeshi origin has secured a place in FIFA's official music album. He is our son from Srimangal, internationally acclaimed American DJ Sanjay. FIFA officially announced this big news on June 4th.
The track created by Sanjay, which has found a place in the FIFA 2026 official album, is titled "Sir Sir." But the excitement doesn't end there! Complementing Sanjay's dazzling beats on this song are Bollywood's "Dancing Queen" Nora Fatehi and famous French pop star Vzedream. The entire album was released worldwide yesterday, June 5th, and Sanjay's fusion music has already begun storming global charts.
Besides having his name in the album, there is another incredible piece of good news—DJ Sanjay will also perform live on stage at the grand opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup. Overwhelmed by this opportunity to rock the world stage in front of billions of viewers, an emotional Sanjay wrote on social media: "My music playing on the world's biggest stage was the biggest dream of my life. Even though I grew up in San Jose, my heart always sought my roots. I dedicate this achievement to all those ordinary children of the world who have the courage to grow up and dream big."
Sanjay was born in Srimangal, Sylhet, known as the tea capital. He then spent a significant part of his childhood in the port city of Chattogram. Later, he moved with his family to California, USA. However, even though he has merged with modern American pop culture, he never forgot the fusion of his Bangladeshi roots and culture. He inherited this musical talent; both his mother and grandmother were from the world of music.
Previously, Nora Fatehi dazzled with her dance at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, but for the 2026 North America World Cup, the main musical direction behind the scenes and the command of the opening stage are going to a Bangladeshi—marking the beginning of a new era for Bangladeshi music on the world stage.
