SSC Examinee Mridul Dies After Entanglement in Hanging Cable Wire

An SSC examinee, Mridul Sarkar (16), was killed in a motorcycle accident after becoming entangled in a hanging cable TV wire in Kapasia Upazila.
The accident occurred on Friday afternoon on the Singhashree–Rayed regional road in the Banshtala area of Rayed Union in Kapasia.
The deceased, Mridul Sarkar, was the son of Amzad Hossain Sarkar from Deona village in Ward No. 1 of Targaon under Rayed Union. He was a 2026 SSC examinee.
According to local sources, Mridul was returning home on a motorcycle after attending an invitation at his sister’s house on Friday afternoon. On the way, a hanging cable connection wire dangling over the road became entangled with his motorcycle in the Banshtala area. As a result, he lost control of the bike and was thrown onto the road, suffering a severe head injury. Although locals rushed to rescue him, he died at the spot.
Rima Akter, a reserved female member of the Rayed Union Parishad, said that Mridul fell from the motorcycle after getting caught in the hanging cable wire while returning from his sister’s house. She added that he died due to a serious head injury and noted that he was an SSC candidate this year.
Officer-in-Charge of Kapasia Police Station, Nasir Ahmed confirmed the student’s death.
According to Md. Main Uddin, physical education teacher at Hafiz Uddin High School, Mridul was a talented student of the school. He had appeared in the SSC examination from the Humanities group. His untimely death has deeply saddened teachers, students, and the entire school community.
