Eight dies from measles symptoms in one day

Eight people died with measles symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,086 people were newly reported with measles or measles symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported the information in its regular measles update released on Saturday.
According to the report, five people died with measles symptoms in Dhaka division, one in Chattogram, one in Sylhet and one in Mymensingh in the past 24 hours.
Since March 15, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country has risen to 1,155. Of them, 104 deaths were confirmed to have been caused by measles, while 1,051 people died with measles symptoms.
The report also said 955 people developed measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected infections to 203,848.
In addition, 131 people were confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 22,328.
