Abdul Wahed (55), a local Jamaat leader, has been arrested at Jamalpur's Madarganj on charges of embezzling Tk 400 crore from clients under the guise of a cooperative society. He was sent to jail through a court on Wednesday.Abdul Wahed is a director of Al-Akaba Multipurpose Cooperative Society and a former amir (chief) of the upazila Jamaat-e-Islami.
