A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to
intensify further, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said, warning
that several parts of the country could experience storms with wind speeds of
45 to 60 kilometers per hour by Friday night.
According to a warning issued Friday afternoon for inland
river ports, strong southerly to southeasterly winds may sweep across Khulna,
Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet
by 1 am Saturday....
