Despite
rising rice, wheat, and corn production and vast government food grain
reserves, nearly 2 crore people in Bangladesh could face severe food insecurity
between September and December.
Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO) made these remarks in a Bangladesh brief on Global
Information and Early Warning System on Food and Agriculture (GIEWS) report
