NCP has
permanently expelled Ataullah Shah, joint member secretary of its Gazipur
Metropolitan unit, after police arrested him in Dhaka's Jatrabari on suspicion
of involvement with an extremist organization.
The party
announced the decision in an expulsion order signed by Sadia Farzana, a member
of the NCP Office Cell, on Tuesday. It later published the letter on its
verified Facebook page late that night. Ataullah Shah was in police remand when
the party expelled him.
