20 medical students injured in Cumilla

At least 20 medical college students were injured when a bus fell into a ditch in Daudkandi, Cumilla on Tuesday.
Daudkandi Highway Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Nur Uddin Bahar confirmed the matter.
All of the injured are students of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College. They were traveling from Barisal to Cox’s Bazar for their annual tour. Following the accident, they canceled their tour and returned to Barisal.
Among the injured are Jawat, Ferdous, Koushi, Miraj, Mursalin, Emon Mridha, Arif, Shafiqul Islam, Maliha Mehnaj, Rayhan, Sazia, Taspia, Ariful Islam, Samiul, Rajarshi, Tasnim, Humayra, Mila, Nisa, and Tanjina. Out of them, nine individuals have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Bahar said the students had set off for Cox’s Bazar with four buses of St Martin Paribahan. When they reached the Jinglatali area of Daudkandi on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, one of the buses plunged into a ditch, injuring at least 20 students.
Upon receiving the news, they rescued the injured. There were a total of 40 students on that bus.
