Storms to hit 6 regions as Dhaka braces for rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said rain or thundershowers may occur in Dhaka by noon and storms could hit six regions of the country.
According to the weather forecast for the inland river ports from 5 am to 1 pm on Thursday, temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or stormy winds blowing at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the south or southeast may occur over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar.
The river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
Earlier, the regular weather bulletin issued on Wednesday added that by 6 pm on Thursday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds might occur in most parts of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
Moreover, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Daytime temperatures across the country are likely to remain nearly unchanged, while nighttime temperatures may decrease slightly.
