One More Dies of Dengue, 198 Hospitalized

One more person has died of dengue in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, from 8 am Wednesday to 8 am Thursday, while 198 patients have been hospitalized during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information on Thursday, in a dengue bulletin issued by its Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room.
According to the bulletin, of the patients hospitalized with dengue in the last 24 hours, 49 were admitted in Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 15 in Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), 26 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 31 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 13 in Mymensingh Division (outside city corporation areas), five in Rajshahi Division (outside city corporation areas), and 31 in Khulna Division (outside city corporation areas).
During the same period, 148 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. With this, a total of 5,067 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals this year. The country has recorded 5,515 dengue cases so far, of whom 62.2 percent are male and 37.8 percent are female. A total of 13 people have died of dengue this year.
In 2025, the country recorded a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths. In 2024, the country reported 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease.
