Eight More Children Die of Measles and Symptoms

Eight more children have died of measles and measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, from 8 am Friday to 8 am Saturday, across Bangladesh. The death toll of measles and measles-like symptoms now stands at 583.
During the same period, 1,086 new cases of measles symptoms have been detected, according to officials.
The information was confirmed on Saturday afternoon by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
According to the bulletin, 1,033 suspected measles patients were recorded in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to May 30, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 69,612. During the same period, confirmed measles cases stood at 8,996.
From March 15 to May 30, a total of 55,705 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. In the same period, 52,050 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
The bulletin also said that eight people died of suspected measles in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to May 30, the total number of deaths from suspected measles has reached 493.
