Three children die with measles symptoms, 1,201 infected

Three more children died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours. No one died from confirmed measles during this period. A total of 1,201 people were infected with the disease in the 24-hour period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the information in a statement Friday. The figures cover the period from 8:00 am Thursday to 8:00 am Friday.
The DGHS said the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country this year has risen to 1,084. Of them, 101 people died from confirmed measles and 983 died with measles symptoms.
In the last 24 hours, one person each died with measles symptoms in Dhaka, Habiganj and Kushtia districts. During the same period, 64 people tested positive for measles. A total of 21,015 people have been infected with confirmed measles so far, the statement said.
