11 children die in 24 hours with measles symptoms

Eleven children have died at hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours with symptoms of measles. During the same period, 113 people were confirmed to have measles and 1,157 suspected cases with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its measles situation report on Wednesday.
According to the report, six children died in Dhaka, two in Chattogram and one each in Sylhet, Khulna and Rangpur divisions in the past 24 hours with measles symptoms.
So far, a total of 1,076 people have died, including 975 suspected cases with measles symptoms and 101 confirmed measles cases.
According to DGHS data, 20,851 people have been confirmed to have measles in the country so far. The number of suspected cases with measles symptoms stands at 183,449.
Dhaka Division has the highest number of cases with measles symptoms. So far, 382 cases with measles symptoms have been reported in the division. Chattogram follows with 238 cases, Sylhet with 164 cases and Barishal with 248 cases.
