2 More Children Die, Measles Toll Hits 833

Two more children died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 833 children were newly affected by measles or measles-like symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the information in its latest measles situation report released on Saturday afternoon.
The figures cover the period from 8 am Friday to 8 am Saturday.
According to the report, two more children died with measles symptoms during the 24-hour period. However, no child died from laboratory-confirmed measles infection.
Since March 15, a total of 638 children have died with measles symptoms nationwide. In addition, 93 children have died after being infected with measles. Altogether, 731 children have died from measles or measles-related symptoms during this period.
Over the past day, 101 children contracted measles, while 732 others were reported with measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 704 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 675 were discharged.
