4 More Children Die with Measles Symptoms in a Single Day

The number of children affected by measles continues to rise across Bangladesh. In the past 24 hours, from 8 am Tuesday to 8 am Wednesday, four more children have died with symptoms of measles, while 1,077 children have been infected with confirmed or suspected cases of the disease.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
According to the statement, 966 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours. Since March 15, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 88,895.
During the same 24-hour period, 111 children were confirmed to have measles, bringing the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 10,634.
From March 15 to June 17, a total of 73,277 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 69,688 patients recovered and were discharged.
The DGHS reported that 568 children have died from suspected measles since March 15.
