14 die from measles symptoms and dengue in one day

A total of 14 people died across the country in the past 24 hours after developing measles symptoms or contracting dengue. Of them, eight died after developing measles symptoms and six died from dengue. During the same period, 1,608 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Meanwhile, 1,109 children were found to have measles symptoms.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported the information in separate notices on Saturday (03 October).

According to the notices, 102 people have died from confirmed measles and 1,020 from measles symptoms this year. The total number of deaths has reached 1,122. Since 15 March, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country has risen to 1,122. Of them, 102 died from confirmed measles and 1,020 died after developing measles symptoms.

The total number of suspected infections has reached 195,197. In addition, 43 people were diagnosed with confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. The total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 21,666.

Since 15 March, 173,024 patients suspected of having measles have been admitted to hospitals across the country. During the same period, 167,756 patients recovered and returned home from hospitals.

Meanwhile, among the dengue patients admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours, 215 are from Barishal Division, 319 from Chattogram Division, 131 from areas outside the city corporations in Dhaka Division, 171 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 223 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 276 from Khulna Division, 79 from Mymensingh Division, 132 from Rajshahi Division and 62 from Rangpur Division.

As of 03 October, this year, a total of 84,369 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country. So far this year, a total of 78,482 dengue patients have recovered after receiving treatment at hospitals and have been discharged. A total of 1,621 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours. So far this year, 256 people have died of dengue across the country.

From 01 January to 31 December 2025, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue and 413 people died from the disease.
