Four more die with measles symptoms, 1,349 new cases

Four more people died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours. With this, 101 people have died from measles and 1,007 have died with measles symptoms in the country this year. The combined death toll from measles and measles symptoms now stands at 1,108.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported the information in its regular health bulletin on Wednesday.
According to the bulletin, one person each died with measles symptoms in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet and Mymensingh during the 24 hours from 8:00 am Tuesday. During this period, 1,349 new patients with measles and measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.
In the last 24 hours, 552 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Division, 33 in Rajshahi, 179 in Sylhet, 280 in Chattogram, 145 in Barishal, 72 in Mymensingh, 66 in Khulna and 22 in Rangpur.
According to DGHS data, a total of 169,800 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country since March 15 this year. Of them, 162,873 have received treatment and been discharged from hospitals.
