Another Death from Measles-Like Symptoms

One more child has died from measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, from 8 am Thursday to 8 am Friday, in Bangladesh, while 1,153 new cases have been recorded during the same period.
The information was issued in a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room on Friday.
It said that 1,027 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to June 12, the total number of suspected cases has reached 84,146. During this period, confirmed measles cases stood at 126, while the total number of confirmed infections since March 15 has reached 10,185.
Between March 15 and June 12, a total of 68,934 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. Of them, 65,275 have recovered and been discharged.
No deaths from confirmed measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours. However, since March 15, confirmed measles infections have claimed 92 lives. During the same period, suspected measles cases have resulted in 551 deaths.
