Eight More Children Die of Measles Symptoms

Eight more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, from 8 am Tuesday to 8 am Wednesday. During the same period, authorities detected 1,039 new measles cases.
The information was disclosed in the Directorate General of Health Services’ (DGHS) regular measles report released on Wednesday.
According to the report, 945 suspected measles cases were recorded during the period, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 82,029 between March 15 and June 10. The number of confirmed measles cases stood at 94 during the latest reporting period, while the cumulative total of confirmed cases reached 9,927 over the same timeframe.
Between March 15 and June 10, a total of 66,999 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 63,145 patients recovered and were discharged.
The report also stated that eight people died from suspected measles in the past 24 hours. From March 15 to June 10, a total of 547 children have died from suspected measles.
