Chairman of Dipon Group Mahmud Hasan has died. He passed away while undergoing treatment at Continental Hospital in the capital late Saturday night. He was 82.
Family members said the schedule for the funeral prayer and burial of the late Mahmud Hasan will be announced later.
In a condolence message, the group prayed for forgiveness for any shortcomings or mistakes of the deceased.
It also prayed for patience and strength for his bereaved family members and relatives during this difficult time.
Mahmud Hasan founded Dipon Gas Company Limited in 1970 at the age of 26. Under his leadership, the company has transformed from a pipeline construction business into a diversified industrial group.
The group is one of the country’s leading companies in the energy sector, EPC services for oil and gas processing plants and gas grid line construction.
In addition to Bangladesh, the group has operations and businesses in countries including India, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
