GSTU Dismisses 17 Teachers at Once

Gopalganj University of Science and Technology (GSTU) has dismissed 17 teachers from various departments for failing to return to their workplace after the end of their study leave.
Among them, one teacher was dismissed for violating government service rules and on grounds of moral misconduct.
The university confirmed the matter on Sunday through an official order signed by the registrar.
According to the order, the decision was taken under Resolution No. 43/10 of the university’s 43rd Regent Board meeting held on June 23. It stated that the concerned teachers had remained abroad on unapproved study leave and ignored multiple university notices instructing them to rejoin their duties. As a result, the authorities decided to permanently dismiss them from service.
The order also instructed the dismissed teachers to refund the money received during their leave period to the university in accordance with applicable rules.
The dismissed teachers include Associate Professor Md. Amirul Islam and Ashraful Hossain Howlader, Assistant Professor Pantha Pratim Sarkar, and lecturers Md. Ahsanullah, Md. Khairul Bashar and Upoma Das from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department; Assistant Professor Kakoli Khatun from the Statistics Department; Lecturer Mymuna Begum Koli from Computer Science and Engineering; Associate Professor Dr. Debobrata Pal from Chemistry; Assistant Professor Mohammad Rubaiyat Rahman from Law; Assistant Professor Md. Mizanur Rahman from Public Administration; Assistant Professor Tasnia Nahan Zulfikar from Pharmacy; Lecturer Adhora Tahsin from Civil Engineering; Assistant Professor Farzana Yasmin from Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; Assistant Professor Md. Ujjal Hossain from Management Studies; and Assistant Professor Mabia Khatun from Finance and Banking.
In addition, Assistant Professor Fatema Khatun from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department was also permanently dismissed for violating government service rules and on grounds of moral misconduct.
