Five public representatives get new roles at Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust
- Liberation War Affairs Minister made chairman
- State minister and four MPs appointed members

The government has reconstituted the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust to make activities for the welfare of freedom fighters more effective and dynamic.
Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has been appointed chairman of the new committee. The committee includes one state minister, four members of Parliament and senior officials from the relevant ministries.
The Liberation War Affairs Ministry recently issued a notification in this regard.
The notification said the Executive Committee of the trust was reconstituted in accordance with Section 13 of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Act, 2018.
The new committee will oversee the overall activities of the trust while implementing the responsibilities assigned by the Trust Board as well as those stipulated in the trust's laws and regulations.
It will also be responsible for formulating and implementing development plans for subordinate commercial and industrial establishments, reviewing the progress of ongoing projects, auditing accounts, determining future action plans and implementing decisions of the Trust Board.
Members of the reconstituted committee include Dhaka 6 constituency lawmaker and Liberation War Affairs State Minister Ishraque Hossain, Kishoreganj 4 constituency lawmaker Md. Fazlur Rahman, Cumilla 6 constituency lawmaker Md. Manirul Haque Chowdhury and Noakhali 2 constituency lawmaker Zainul Abedin Faruk.
In addition, the secretary of the Finance Division under the Ministry of Finance, the secretary of the Ministry of Industries and the secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry will serve as ex officio members of the Executive Committee.
The managing director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will serve as member secretary.
The government expects the reconstituted Executive Committee to make the development and welfare activities of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust more dynamic and effective.
