High Court summons two former DSHE directors general

The High Court has summoned two former Directors General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Professor Dr. Muhammad Azad Khan and Professor B. M. Abdul Hannan. They have been ordered to appear before the court on August 12 and explain why they failed to comply with a court order.
The order was issued on Wednesday by the High Court bench of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Md. Asif Hasan.
Advocate Md. Humayun Kabir appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner.
Advocate Md. Humayun Kabir said, “While Principal Mariam Mujahida of Rajoir Degree College in Madaripur was serving in her position, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education appointed another person as the drawing and disbursing officer. Principal Mariam Mujahida filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the order.”
He added, “Despite the stay order issued in the writ petition, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education did not issue any letter suspending the order. As a result, Principal Mariam Mujahida filed a contempt of court petition. In the contempt case, the court today ordered former Directors General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Dr. Muhammad Azad Khan and Professor B. M. Abdul Hannan to appear before the court in person.”
