The 123rd meeting of the National Implementation Committee on Administrative Reorganisation (NICAR) will be held on Wednesday (July 1). The meeting will take place at 11:00 AM under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

This information was obtained from a meeting notice issued by the Cabinet Division on Sunday.

A total of six proposals will be placed for discussion at the meeting. These include the establishment of a new "Halda Police Station" by dividing the Hathazari Police Station in Chattogram district, the formation of a new upazila named "Fatikchhari North" comprising six unions of Fatikchhari Upazila, and the creation of a new upazila called "Bangra" by dividing Muradnagar Upazila in Cumilla district.

Additionally, there is a proposal to reorganise the Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur districts--- that fall under RAJUK--- by incorporating the parts of the Narayanganj and Gazipur district projects under the new city project area.

Another proposal seeks to form a new upazila named "Adarshanagar" by combining eight unions under Pagla Police Station within Gafargaon Upazila in Mymensingh district.

The notice also mentioned that another proposal on the agenda will discuss the reorganisation of the sub-divisions of the Roads and Highways Department under the Road Transport and Highways Division.

The notice also included necessary instructions regarding attendance, dispatch of working papers, and online participation in the meeting.

Earlier, the 120th meeting of NICAR on May 7 approved "Matamuhuri" as a new upazila in Cox's Bazar.
