Chawkbazar Fire Contained After Nearly Two Hours

A fire that broke out on the third floor of Ashik Tower in the Khwaja Market area of Chawkbazar was brought under control after nearly two hours of firefighting efforts on Saturday.
The information was confirmed to Agamir Somoy by Fire Service control room Duty Officer Khaleda Yasmin.
She said the blaze was fully contained at 3:14 pm, with a total of six units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence responding to the incident.
The Fire Service received the emergency call at 1:34 pm Two units from the Lalbagh Fire Station were immediately dispatched and arrived at the scene at 1:46 pm, where firefighters began efforts to extinguish the blaze. Additional units were later deployed.
The cause of the fire, as well as any casualties or the extent of the damage, has not yet been determined.
