Storms Up to 60 km/h to Hit 20 Regions Including Dhaka

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said storms with speeds of up to 60 km per hour may occur in 20 regions of the country, including Dhaka, by noon.
BMD confirmed the matter in the weather forecast for inland river ports, effective from 5 am to 1 pm on Thursday.
According to the forecast, temporary gusty winds with rain or thundershowers, moving from the south or south-east at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour, may pass over the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.
River ports in these areas have been advised to display cautionary signal number 1.
Earlier, a five-day forecast issued on Wednesday said light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning, might occur in most places across the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions on Thursday.
Moreover, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall in some locations across the country. The forecast also indicated that day and night temperatures throughout the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
