US President Donald Trump has announced that a ceasefire and agreement with Iran have been finalized. He also authorized the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic and approved the lifting of the US naval blockade.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said, "The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete."

Trump said the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping lane for global energy supplies that Iran has effectively shut down for months, would be open "toll free" and that a U.S. naval blockade of Iran ports would also end.

He further added, “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said an agreement between the United States and Iran has taken effect. In a social media post, he claimed that both sides had declared immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon."

Sharif also said the agreement will be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19. He thanked both the United States and Iran for demonstrating commitment to the deal and praised Qatar for its support. According to him, the leadership of Saudi Arabia and Turkey also made significant contributions to the process.

He further said that several meetings would take place this week to begin technical-level discussions ahead of the formal signing of the agreement.

Iranian officials, however, have not yet commented on the matter.
