Major polling agencies have released their exit poll results following the conclusion of the assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
The projections suggest a likely return for the BJP in Assam and a potential shift in power in Kerala toward the Congress-led UDF. However, Tamil Nadu remains the most discussed battleground as actor Vijay’s newly formed party, TVK, appears to be putting up a fierce fight against the ruling DMK.
Assam: BJP Poised for a Hat-trick
Across the board, pollsters predict a dominant victory for the BJP alliance in the 126-seat Assam Assembly. Here are what the exit poll companies predict:
Axis My India: BJP+ (88-100 seats), Congress+ (24-36 seats).
People’s Pulse: BJP+ (83-91 seats), Congress+ (22-26 seats).
P-MARQ & Matrize: Both predict a comfortable lead for the BJP, with seats ranging between 82 and 94, while Congress is expected to stay below 40.
Kerala: UDF Set to Topple LDF
In Kerala's 140-seat assembly, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) is projected to unseat the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), bringing back the state's traditional trend of alternating governments.
Axis My India: UDF (78-90 seats), LDF (49-62 seats).
People’s Pulse: UDF (75-85 seats), LDF (55-65 seats).
P-MARQ & Matrize: Both give the UDF a decisive edge with 70-79 seats, while the LDF is projected at 60-69.
The BJP-led NDA is expected to make minimal gains, potentially securing 3 to 5 seats.
Tamil Nadu: DMK Ahead, but TVK Emerges as a Major Spoiler
The most surprising projections come from Tamil Nadu’s 234-seat assembly. While most agencies favor the ruling DMK alliance, one major pollster suggests a massive upset by actor-turned-politician Vijay’s TVK.
The Surprise Factor (Axis My India): In a stunning prediction, this agency places TVK at the top with 98-120 seats, while the DMK+ follows closely with 92-110 seats.
Mainstream Consensus: Three other major agencies—People’s Pulse (125-145), P-MARQ (125-145), and Matrize (122-132)—predict an absolute majority for the DMK alliance. These polls suggest TVK will be limited to 10–26 seats.
AIADMK: The AIADMK-led alliance is expected to recover slightly, with projections placing them around the 100 seat mark at the maximum.
