Fire at Hotel in Birbhum, India; 7 Dead

A fire broke out at a hotel in Tarapith, Birbhum district, West Bengal, killing at least seven people. Several others were injured in the incident. The accident occurred early this morning (Monday).
The fire started on the ground floor of a four-story hotel in Tarapith around 4:30 AM. At that time, most of the guests, who were pilgrims, were asleep in the hotel.
Fire service officials arrived at the scene after receiving the news and brought the fire under control.
The injured were rescued from the hotel and taken to Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The fire service department's preliminary assessment suggests that the fire may have originated from an electrical short circuit.
Police also arrived at the scene after receiving the news. They have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and the details of the accident.
As the fire suddenly spread in the early hours of the morning, panic spread among the pilgrims staying at the hotel. The death toll in the fire has cast a pall of sorrow over Tarapith.
